Maritime Heritage Festival Is On!!

We checked it out yesterday and we'll be heading down in a moment for the cardboard boat regatta. Reilly tonight in the bandshell and fireworks at 9:15 - don't miss it!

Basic Blog Instructions

Because the blog is new, it is difficult to find by putting it into a search engine. You may want to 'bookmark' the page in order to find it more easily. You should have a 'bookmark' tab at the top of your screen to do this.

When you visit Port Washington Community Voice, you should be seeing the most recent post first. If you're 'stuck' on the first post, you need to do what is known as:

Follow the instructions on the link and the next time you visit you should be seeing what's happening now. If you're still stuck in the past, try hitting the 'refresh' button (generally a blue, circular arrow in your toolbar). After all, I wouldn't want you to miss out on anything:-)

Port Washington City Committees

Did you know that almost everything that happens in our city happens at the committee level? Alderman are presented with the recommendations of the committees and nearly always accept them - meaning that by the time you hear about the decision, you no longer have an opportunity to engage; you are only left with the option to complain.

Here are some of the city's most important committees and when they meet at City Hall. For a complete list and the agenda and minutes, visit the city website.

Common Council - 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 7:30PM

Finance & License - 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 6:30PM

Harbor Commission - 2nd Mondays at 4PM

Plan Commission - 3rd Thursdays at 6:30PM

Public Works - 2nd Tuesdays at 8PM
